Freezing weather

The water pipes froze in Mollie's apartment. The kitchen sink froze, they were not sure about the washer, and Jordan's tub and sink(they are on an exterior wall). It surprised me that the kitchen sink froze. There must not be much insulation. Mollie made sure to leave the tub dripping last night, so it worked today. The got a call at dark this evening that the apt was flooding. Haley's room was flooding, it's the only down stairs bedroom, they can't get their landlord. I called the water department and they cut off the water to the apartment. I guess she will be bathing at home. It will be Monday before they will be able to reach their landlord and who knows when they can send a plumber. The local plumbers have all been very busy with the freeze.

Our house has been fine. We checked everything last night and it was OK this morning. Dale double checked everything tonight. I caught up on my washing just in case there are problems. Suzanne & Greg have frozen pipes to their wash room and extra bathroom. I am ready for it to get back to above freezing. The south is not prepared to cold weather.

My Site

I spent hours last night trying to add cute stuff to my site. I added some but not in the right places. It's looking better, but not there yet. I hope that I have time to try again tonight. I guess I'm not good at reading directions. I know there is just 1 step I'm missing. I have used Photo Bucket before, so that was not a problem. It's fun to keep trying and finding more cute stuff. If anyone knows where I can look for more cute stuff or instructions, please let me know.

It's been a busy date at work. Amanda had surgery today and also had another employee out. I saw Amanda right after the surgery, all she wanted to do was sleep. Her family was trying to make her eat something and drink water so she could go to the bathroom then go home. I hope is feels like coming back to work on Monday. The doctor said she could! Get better soon Amanda.

Family Night

The family is all here. Fire in the fireplace. Mollie's puppy Bailey" is here with us. The two big dogs outside wanting in. One smells like a skunk - I think he was barely sprayed. He is curious, but knows not to get too close. Bama and Texas on the TV.

The dogs will get to spend the night in the house, since it will be down in the 20's tonight! We are trying to teach Bailey some tricks.

Just started a program to read the Bible in 1 year. I chose the historical version. Right now just reading it in order - 3 chapters a day. Go to www.youversion.com to check it out. There are many choices.

Free Stuff

I love free stuff. Especially free food. If you love free food you need to go to www.raisingcanes.com and join the caniac club. You get a free meal just for registering. They email the coupon and take it in, then you get a club card. Register it and you get another free meal. Then you get free stuff, just present it when you order. Also a free meal on your birthday. Never been a Beatles fan - but now I have their songs stuck in my head.

I love donuts. Especilly from Shipley's Donuts. It's been locally owned since I was a child adn the still have my favorite. Chocolated Filled. It's one of the few places that I have beenn able to share with my daughter Mollie. It's as good as I remembered.

Learning

I think I have just changed the layout on my blog. I have been admiring other layouts and found out how to change them!

I think I am one the few people that is enjoying the cold weather. Last night we had Chili and a fire in the fireplace. (We cheat with gas logs and I love it) Tonight, with breakfast for supper with pancakes. I even added white chocolate chips to Millie's.

I finally made my new year's resolution. It's to memorize scripture. At least one verse a week. Not a huge goal, but its a start. Next year it may be one a day!!!

New Year

I have not blogged in a while. I'm back at work :(, but it is snowing :). I have been watching it snow all morning. It is not sticking, which is fine with me. I just loving watching it from a warm place. It's just about to stop!!!

With the cold weather - all I can thing about is fixing soup. Beef Taco soup, Chicken Taco soup, Chili, Shrimp chowder, Gumbo, Corn Chowder, Hopping John. . .

It's time for me to get serious about Fat Flush meals again. I lost 25 pounds last summer and I have kept it off. I would love to lose 10 more, but the last 10 are always the hardest. I have my cranwater and an apple - I'm trying. The holidays were so hard, not much in the willpower department. The regular routine will help.
