It's been a while since I've had time for a DYI project. Well, the stars lined up and I did it. Mollie and I both needed something with our house number on it. I found some cute flags on Pinterest, and decided to try.
First, I cut a pattern from a paper bag. I measured the metal piece that the flag will be on. Then cut the pattern with a 1/2 inch seam allowance on each side. The bag was shorter than I wanted so I added a few inched to the length. I chose a chevron pattern for each flag
. With right side together, I began sewing 2 inched from the top, then stopped at the bottom and left about 3 inches unsewn to turn it right side out. Then I repeated on the other side. I turned it right side out and top stitched 1/4 inch from the edge. Then with iron on numbers, I placed the house numbers and ironed them on according to package directions. I picked up the numbers on clearance at Tuesday Mornings for 10 cents a set. Any craft store should have them. On the LSU flag, the numbers are on both sides, on the La Tech Flag the numbers were only on one side. I top stitched each number on the Tech Flag. If I make another 2 sided flag, I will iron on and top stitch the numbers before I assemble the flag.

Tumor, Cacer, the Big C
I did not except to be stopped in my tracks by a little muscle pain. The Friday before Mother's Day it began like a Charley Horse in my Right leg. I just though that I was tired from my granddaughter's arrival at 6:51 am on Tuesday, May 8. I rested Saturday and slept Sunday afternoon. I went to the Chiropractor Monday and Wednesday. Thurday, I saw my GP - checked for blood clots(none) and sent me home. Friday, I could not walk without crutches. My family called another doctor, he saw me on Saturday and set up a MRI for Monday. Got the call before I got home - Soft Tissue Sarcoma. A tumor in my leg. They recommended treatment at M D Anderson Center in Houston, the nation's #1 cancer center. I'm waiting for their call.
Lots of question- when, what type of treatment, is it benign, will there be radiation?
trusting in Jesus...

Puppy Scam
Mollie's dog Bailey had a liter of puppies in January - Mollie knew that she was going to get rich. She had been told that the puppies would sell for $750 each. With 7 puppies she had $$$$$$ signs in her eyes. The puppies have been for sale for the last 6 weeks and there is only 1 remaining. They only sold for $350-$450 each.
OK here is the scam details. I places ads on several classified web sites. I received a text message from someone in NY(or so they said) he wanted to purchase the puppy and use a private shipper to take the puppy to NY. I did not hear back from him. Later, I received a operator assisted call (the kind used by deaf people). We exchanged email addresses and correspondence by email. He said that he was deaf and wanted the puppy for his son's birthday. He was going to send me a payment that included the shipping and I was to forward the shipping fee to the shipper. I began to smell a SCAM. The check came in today and it was fake. I have turned it over to the police department.
I received an email from him this morning telling me that I would receive the payment today and it included the tracking number. I will let him know the next time that he emails me that I have turned it over to the police. I hope that he doesn't harass me by email or phone.
